So the NYSC Community Development Service (CDS) is one funny aspect of NYSC in this Rivers state😂. Some CDS are Focused🙂, Some are for cruise and vibes🤪, don't worry, when you start you go sabi as e dey go🤣.


Although at the moment, CDS list has started rolling in, If you are yet to document, you cannot see your state code on the list😂, we will keep you updated as the list keeps coming out. Before you start your CDS below are all you need to know🤷‍♀️




1. 📌What is CDS?


CDS is a platform for Corps Members to contribute to the development of their host communities through various projects and activities. 


The essence of NYSC is to contribute to the development of the nation as a whole, So CDS is a way to ensure that corps members are a part of a project that will benefit the host communities.


Key Objectives:


- Improve community engagement. Of course, you will interact with residents of the communities and find a way to engage them in the idea of your CDS, e.g, Sanitation CDS, Una fits share  🧹 broom and Packer, for communities, do community cleanup, encourage residents to join you etc.

- Enhance skills and leadership. Of course, some day, you sef fit be president, if time never reach for you to be Nigeria President, at least once you join NYSC, it's time for you to know, you could be a CDS president someday, or a VP, or Secretary, and so on. If course you will learn one or two leadership skills. CDS Leadership is sha not for the faint hearted.

- Foster national development. Of course, we all in NYSC are from all parts of Nigeria, coming together to development communities in Rivers state, that's how others in other states are joining to develop everywhere in Nigeria.


2. Benefits of Participating in CDS

- Develop skills and leadership

- Network with fellow Corps Members

- Contribute to national development

- Boost CV and career prospects.



 CDS DAYS


A day is designated to different CDS, when you find your CDS, your PPA is expected to allow you to attend, So show up at your CDS at the time and day allocated to your CDS. 


Attendance will be taken, you will pay membership fee, If you dey Charity CDS.......😂😂😂😂All I can say is God loves a cheerful giver.


The LGI is new, I never too Sabi him way, remember that  the last week before biometric week, CDS final clearance for the month would be shared at the CDS level, you dare not photocopy anybody's own(you could be queried), but someone can collect one for you if possible. 


Finally, I would say enjoy your stay at your CDS, network, it's an opportunity to pick interest in something that may change your life📌



I will be posting the Contact of the presidents of all CDS, from there, you will know all the CDS available. Now if you see your state code and CDS, WhatsApp your President, discuss how you could be added to the WhatsApp platform, then if you don't see your name and you have documented, Wait! they will release another one. It is only when you document, you will have a CDS. If you got an Introductory letter from camp, do well to document early if you want to retain that CDS, if not, na you go sabi.

Welcome to the Outside World in Obio Akpor Once again,  Congratulations on your passing out. Here to guide you and others posted to OBIO AKPOR on what to do as a new corps member. There are other Nysc communities that we assist with Updates too. We do not work directly under the LGI, but we are assisting you based on our experience so far.  Back to the matter  It was a crazy 21 days I believe, your body will need rest to recover.
